About Julie

Julie Menten is a partner at Roper Greyell practising in employment, labour, human rights, workplace investigations, and privacy law. Before becoming a lawyer she worked as a therapist and mental health expert for over a decade, an unusual background she draws on for workplace misconduct, disability management, and mental health and substance use matters. She conducts investigations into allegations of bullying and harassment and has appeared before all levels of court in BC and Alberta, as well as human rights, workers compensation, and labour arbitration boards, and previously clerked at the BC Court of Appeal. She holds a BA (With Distinction) in Child and Youth Care from the University of Victoria, an MSc in Couple and Family Therapy from the University of Guelph, and a JD (With Distinction) from Western University, and was called to the bar in British Columbia in 2013 and Alberta in 2019.
