About Andy

Andy J. Semotiuk is an immigration lawyer admitted to the bars of New York, California, Ontario, and British Columbia, and has practised immigration law for more than 40 years. He is a graduate of a combined Commerce-Law program at the University of British Columbia. Semotiuk has written about immigration issues for Forbes and has spoken internationally on U.S. and Canadian immigration law. Earlier in his career he served for two years on the Tribunal Panel of the Canadian Human Rights Commission and represented more than 300 Fijian refugees in the late 1980s. He was a founding partner of the law firm Biamonte, Cairo and Shortreed, and he currently practises as an associate of Pace Law Firm in Toronto, handling U.S. and Canadian immigration matters including work visas, permanent residence, and family sponsorship.
