Andy J. Semotiuk runs a personally branded immigration law practice, with an office through Pace Law Firm in Toronto's West Mall business area of Etobicoke. Semotiuk is a member of the bars of Ontario, British Columbia, New York, and California, a combination that covers immigration matters crossing the Canada to U.S. border. The practice has focused on immigration law since 1974, handling spousal sponsorships, investor and start up work visas, intercompany transferee visas, professional work visas, and inadmissibility waivers for clients moving between the two countries. Semotiuk graduated from a combined Commerce-Law program at the University of British Columbia.

Earlier in the career, Semotiuk practised law in both Los Angeles and New York, was a founding partner of a law firm, and once opened an office inside the West Edmonton Mall. Semotiuk served on the Tribunal Panel of the Canadian Human Rights Commission. A former United Nations correspondent, Semotiuk also writes a Forbes column on investor immigration and international law, and speaks English and Ukrainian. Semotiuk has authored several books, including a biography of opera soprano Solomea Krushelnytska and a memoir about the author's mother's wartime immigration to Canada.
