Andrew Gay, KC has helped clients resolve disputes in and out of the courtroom since 1997, with a broad litigation practice emphasizing public law. He has extensive experience in administrative law, including regulatory, licensing, and professional discipline matters, and is known for his work in judicial review of administrative decisions. His other practice areas include commercial litigation, government liability, civil forfeiture, constitutional litigation, negligence, civil fraud, defamation, property disputes, and civil sexual assault cases. Andrew also has experience in British Columbia liquor law, acting for restaurants, bars, and private liquor stores in disputes with the Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch. He was for many years an Adjunct Professor at the UBC Law School teaching government liability, is the author of the nuisance law chapter in Government Liability: Law and Practice, and is a former co-Chair of the Administrative Law Subsection of the Canadian Bar Association's BC Branch. Andrew holds a Master of Environmental Studies from York University (1996) and an LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School (1996), and was called to the British Columbia bar in 1997 and appointed King's Counsel in 2016.
