About Allen

Allen Peabody is a lawyer at River Valley Law LLP who was born and raised in Atlantic Canada before relocating to Vancouver and, in 1997, to the Cowichan Valley to raise a family. He came to law as a second career after previously working in business, becoming RVL's first articling student in fall 2024 and joining as a lawyer in December 2025. He practices family law, employment law and civil litigation, and is a certified civil arbitrator on the ADR Institute of BC's Arbitrator Roster. He volunteers with Cowichan Restorative Justice, St. John Ambulance and the Cowichan Pride Society, and has training in restorative justice practice, trauma-informed practice, sexualized violence response and Gladue principles. He holds a BA with distinction from Vancouver Island University (2012) and a Juris Doctor from the University of Victoria (2020), and became a Qualified Arbitrator through the ADR Institute of Canada in 2024.
