About Melanie

Melanie Duggan is a partner at River Valley Law LLP, based primarily out of the firm's Fraser Valley office. She grew up in British Columbia but completed her undergraduate and law degrees in the United States, where she was a member of the Moot Court Board and Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity during law school. She practiced law in California for several years before returning to BC, practicing in Victoria for 16 years and relocating to the Lower Mainland in 2024. Her practice covers family law, estate litigation, and civil litigation. She earned a BA from Southern Adventist University in 1997 and a JD from Vanderbilt University in 2000, was called to the California bar in 2001, and was called to the British Columbia bar in 2008.
