About Alison

Alison McEwen practices labour law, employment law, and litigation, representing unions across Canada with a focus on Ottawa and Eastern Ontario, and has appeared at the Supreme Court of Canada, the Federal Court, and the Ontario Superior Court, as well as the Ontario Labour Relations Board and Human Rights Tribunal. Her sector focus includes education, health, municipal, retail, and transportation labour relations, and she negotiates collective agreements for unions. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2012 and the Nunavut Bar in 2015, holding a J.D. from the University of British Columbia and a BA from the University of Calgary. She teaches Employment Law in the University of Ottawa's common law program and is involved with its Women's Legal Mentorship Program, and she previously clerked for the Superior Court of Justice's East Region judges.
