About Andrew

Andrew Astritis is an Ottawa human rights lawyer who represents unions in the federal public sector and elsewhere, focusing on judicial review and appellate litigation. He has worked on cases addressing the duty to accommodate family status, essential services, public service pension litigation, and workers' collective rights under the Charter, and represented current and former Canadian Armed Forces members in a class action over military sexual misconduct that led to a $900 million settlement. Astritis has appeared before labour arbitrators, administrative tribunals, and courts at every level, including the Supreme Court of Canada, and teaches an advanced labour law seminar as a part-time professor at the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Law. He previously clerked for Justice John Evans of the Federal Court of Appeal.
