Alex Treiber is the founder of Treiber Law, established in 2024 after several years practising labour and employment law in Toronto and litigation in New York City. Treiber began as a labour and employment lawyer at one of Canada's oldest and most prestigious law firms, advising some of Canada's largest employers on employment standards, wrongful and constructive dismissals, human rights, privacy, workplace investigations, occupational health and safety, labour arbitrations, and collective bargaining. Treiber later joined a top New York litigation firm, representing multinational organizations in complex civil litigation and investigatory matters including securities, environmental tort, bankruptcy, and products liability class actions, before returning to Toronto in 2021. Treiber has appeared before numerous provincial, state, federal, and appellate courts, including the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, and the Federal Court of Appeal, along with several U.S. federal and state courts. Treiber is called to the bar in Ontario, New York State, and the Southern District of New York, and is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, the New York Bar Association, and the New York City Bar Association. Treiber serves on the Ontario Bar Association's Labour and Employment Section Executive and is a sessional instructor at the University of Windsor Faculty of Law, teaching labour and employment law.
