About Treiber Law

Treiber Law is a Toronto employment law firm founded by Alex Treiber in 2024. It's a small practice, with two lawyers working out of an office on King Street East in the city's Corktown neighbourhood. The firm advises both employees and businesses on workplace rights, taking on matters such as wrongful, unjust, and constructive dismissal, severance negotiations, human rights complaints, workplace investigations, and employment contract review. Because it acts for both sides of the employment relationship, the firm says it can speak the other side's language when it comes time to negotiate a resolution.

Treiber founded the firm after close to a decade of legal work, including time in the labour and employment group at McCarthy Tetrault in Toronto and litigation work at Sullivan & Cromwell in New York City. Treiber holds law degrees from the University of Windsor and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, and is admitted to practice in Ontario, New York State, and the Southern District of New York. Treiber also teaches as a sessional instructor at the University of Windsor Faculty of Law. Associate lawyer Ivy Duong joined from a smaller Toronto employment law firm, where Duong advised large employers on hiring and terminations and negotiated severance on behalf of employees.
