About Akanksha

Akanksha Nayyar is a junior associate with Muneeza Sheikh Employment & Human Rights, handling employment and human rights matters for clients. She was called to the bar in Ontario in June 2026, after immigrating to Canada in 2022 and completing her NCA assessments and LSO licensing requirements; during that process she spent about four years working as a law clerk, gaining experience in human rights, family law, immigration law, landlord-tenant disputes, and civil and estate litigation, as well as employment law. Before moving to Canada she spent more than five years practicing law in India, appearing before the Punjab & Haryana High Court and various District Courts on civil, matrimonial, consumer, arbitration, and property-related cases, and working under Haryana's former Additional Advocate General as an associate handling constitutional, corporate, civil, consumer, and service-law matters. She holds an LL.M. from Kurukshetra University, an LL.B. from Panjab University, and a Bachelor of Commerce with an Honours focus in economics, and in 2023 completed a diploma in immigration assistance at CDI College; outside work she paints, practices Kathak dance, and follows yoga and meditation.
