Powell Barrister Professional Corporation is a small litigation firm founded in 2005 by Allan Powell, based in Markham, Ontario, with a satellite office in Toronto's financial district on Bay Street. The firm restricts its practice to professional liability defence, representing real estate agents and lawyers accused of negligence or errors and omissions. It acts as lead counsel for a major Ontario real estate professional liability program, and the firm is one of five firms in Ontario that defend real estate agents against professional negligence claims. Lawyers at the firm also serve as independent legal counsel at Discipline and Appeals Committee hearings for the Real Estate Council of Ontario.

Powell earned a Bachelor of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1985, after an earlier Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from the University of Windsor, where Powell graduated as gold medalist for the Faculty of Arts. Called to the Ontario bar in 1987, Powell has practiced exclusively in civil litigation ever since and founded the firm to concentrate on professional negligence defence work. Senior litigation assistant Elma Alegre has worked alongside Powell since 1991, giving the firm's small support staff decades of continuity. The rest of the team, a handful of lawyers backed by paralegal and clerking staff, handles files at every level of court in Ontario, from Superior Court trials through appellate courts, tribunals, and mediations.
