Alan Harris was called to the Ontario bar and began practicing law serving clients in West Toronto. Gregory Harris, a founding partner of the firm, graduated magna cum laude from the University of Ottawa's law program in 1990 and served as an editor of the Ottawa Law Review. R. Alan Harris continued as counsel to the firm until retiring in 2005, after more than 39 years in practice.

Commercial litigator Douglas Christie, called to the Ontario bar in 1983, first partnered with R. Alan Harris and later rejoined the firm.
