Arya & Sher is a small law firm in Toronto, founded in 2001 by Rajiv Arya and Kashif Sher after both had built experience at established Toronto law firms. Rajiv Arya combines a law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School with a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto, and is licensed in Ontario as both a lawyer and a dental surgeon. That combination feeds a health law practice representing physicians, chiropractors, physiotherapists, veterinarians, pharmacists, optometrists, and dentists in regulatory and disciplinary matters, and Arya previously served as a prosecutor for the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario.
Kashif Sher holds an LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School, where Sher received an entrance award, and an MBA from the Rotman School of Management, where Sher made the Dean's List. Before co-founding the firm, Sher practiced corporate and litigation defence work at a Toronto firm and worked with an investment bank's legal group on venture capital and private equity deals. The Attorney General of Ontario later appointed Sher to the Justice of the Peace Appointments Advisory Committee. The firm also works alongside external litigation and immigration counsel, extending its reach into court work and immigration applications without adding permanent headcount.
