About Galarneau & Associates

Galarneau & Associates is a family law firm based in Orléans, in east Ottawa, founded in 1995 by lawyer and mediator Susan Galarneau. The firm has grown to four lawyers, and its practice centers on separation, parenting arrangements, child and spousal support, and property division, along with wills, powers of attorney, and estate administration. Rather than defaulting to litigation, the firm leans on mediation, arbitration, and collaborative law to resolve family disputes outside of court, an approach that runs through Susan Galarneau's own background as a lawyer and a certified mediator, arbitrator, and collaborative lawyer.

Susan Galarneau, Bruno Sharpe, and Nicole Bolick work in English and French, a reflection of Orléans' largely Francophone community. Bruno Sharpe completed law school through the University of Ottawa's common law program taught in French before being called to the Ontario Bar in 2019, and Yasmin Abbadi provides services in Arabic. Three of the four lawyers, Bruno Sharpe, Nicole Bolick, and Yasmin Abbadi, accept Legal Aid Ontario certificates for eligible clients. The firm doesn't keep a physical office open to visitors anymore; consultations happen remotely, and it serves clients across Orléans, Ottawa, Rockland, Prescott-Russell, Cumberland, Kemptville, and Osgoode.
