CCY Family Law is a family law firm in Ottawa that grew out of a private practice founder Gerald Yemensky opened in 1986. What began as a solo practice is now a team of several family counsel and lawyers who handle collaborative family law, mediation, arbitration and litigation, along with real estate, wills and estates, corporate law on request, and notarization. The firm runs two Ottawa offices, one on Clyde Avenue in the Bleeker Mall and a second on Hunt Club Road, and it offers appointments by videoconference, telephone or in person.
One of the firm's lawyers is dually licensed in Ontario and India, having started a legal career in India in 2018 before qualifying in Ontario in 2023, and now works on foreign divorces and other international family law matters. Another is an accredited family law mediator and a trained collaborative lawyer active with Collaborative Practice Ottawa. Founder Gerald Yemensky went on to serve as President of Collaborative Practice Ottawa and as a Director of the Ontario Association for Family Mediation, and lectured on family law and dispute resolution at Algonquin College and in the Law Society's Bar Admission course. The firm also produces its own podcast series on family law topics, from child support to separation.
