About Tuna

Tuna Uygun handles a broad litigation practice at DWF's Calgary office, covering insurance defence, construction disputes, and general commercial matters. Before joining the firm in 2026, he built experience across criminal defence, civil litigation, Indigenous law, and public law. Uygun's cases have included class action lawsuits, municipal development disputes, construction lien claims, shareholder disagreements, insurance defence files, and contract disputes, with appearances before the Alberta Court of Justice, the Court of King's Bench, the Court of Appeal, and the Edmonton Subdivision and Development Appeal Board. He obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta in 2020, where he volunteered with the Student Legal Services criminal division and led the Law Students' Association as president. Prior to law school, he completed an honours Bachelor of Arts in political science at MacEwan University. Uygun gained admission to the Alberta bar in 2022.
