About Timothy
Timothy Richards earned his law degree from the University of Ottawa in 2005 and was called to the Ontario bar the following year. He began his career practising in Ottawa before spending about a decade in Vaughan, and he joined HHL Law Firm LLP in 2019. His practice covers corporate and commercial law, wills and estates, and real estate. On the corporate side he advises businesses ranging from small start-ups to publicly listed corporations, guiding them through incorporation, shareholders' agreements, commercial leasing, contract matters, and share or asset sales, as well as reorganizations and wind-ups. In his estates practice he helps clients with wills, trusts, and other planning tools, and has acted for estates of varying size and complexity. He was born and raised in Newmarket, where he still lives with his wife and two children.
