Tim Xia is the founder of TX Law Firm, a barrister, solicitor, and notary public practising in Richmond, BC. Born in Ningbo, China, he earned a Bachelor of Laws from Peking University in 1983 and a Master of Laws from Fudan University in 1986. In 1987 he moved to Canada on a scholarship from Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP to study at the University of British Columbia, earning an LL.M. in 1990 and a J.D. in 1993. He articled with Ferguson Gifford in Vancouver and was called to the British Columbia bar in 1994, and later to the Ontario bar in 2010, the year he founded TX Law Firm. He previously worked at Carr-Harris & Company and Kajoba & Company and held a part-time research fellowship at UBC's Institute of Asian Research. His practice covers real estate, commercial and business law, ICBC personal injury claims, criminal law, wills and estates, immigration, and notary services.
