Construction LawTom Turner studied economics and sociology at the University of Manitoba before earning his LL.B there in 1985. He completed his articles at Pitblado & Hoskin and was called to the bar in 1986, practising as an associate until 1993 and as a partner until 1998, then continuing as a partner with the Pitblado Law Firm until January 2022. Throughout his career, Tom has practised corporate and commercial law, wills, estates and trust law, and commercial and residential real estate, and he has considerable experience in construction and infrastructure law from both commercial and litigation perspectives, including matters under the Builders' Liens Act. He has appeared at all levels of court in Manitoba, served a ten-year term on Pitblado Law's executive committee, sat on the Manitoba Law Reform Commission's advisory board for its review of the Builders' Liens Act, and chaired the Manitoba Bar Association's Construction subsection twice.
