About Dennis

Dennis Smith co-founded Hook & Smith in 1984 after studying business administration and law at the University of Manitoba, where he earned his LL.B. in 1983. He completed his articles at Monk Goodwin and was called to the bar in 1984. Dennis practises mainly in corporate and commercial law, wills, estates and trust law, and commercial and residential real estate law, and brings a businessman's perspective to his corporate clients as the firm's owner. He lectures on contract and agency law for the Manitoba Home Builders' Association's New Home Sales Agent Course and serves as a seminar lecturer on wills and estates for the Department of National Defense's Second Career Assistance Network. Dennis served as an officer in the Canadian Naval Reserve earlier in his career and is a member of the Manitoba Bar and Canadian Bar Associations.
