About Thomas
Thomas Mathews is a founding partner of Mathews Samac LLP, where he has built a broad litigation practice spanning civil and commercial disputes, regulatory matters, and criminal matters including white-collar defence. He is bilingual and trained in both common law and civil law, and as a member of the Bars of Ontario and Quebec he represents clients in both provinces, most often in Toronto and Montreal. He has litigated on Toronto's Commercial List, including summary judgment motions, and works with the Law Office of Calvin Goldman, K.C., a former head of the Competition Bureau, on competition litigation matters. Thomas was appointed by the provincial Cabinet to the board of Venture Ontario, which manages government investments in venture capital funds and technology companies, and his commentary has appeared in The Globe and Mail, the National Post, and the Financial Post.
