About Thomas
Thomas Richardson is senior counsel and the former chair of the firm's Administrative Law Group, practising municipal law, land use planning and development, and administrative law. His work centres on matters before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal, the Assessment Review Board and the Niagara Escarpment Commission, and he has appeared before courts including the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Divisional Court. Tom handles the full range of development applications for municipalities, developers and ratepayers' groups, from commercial developments and plans of subdivision to non-profit housing co-ops and minor variances, and has substantial experience in expropriation and assessment appeals. He was admitted to the Ontario bar in 1972, holds an LL.B. and a B.A. from the University of Western Ontario, and is certified by the Law Society of Ontario as a municipal law specialist.
