The Honourable Marc Noël is a partner in Osler's National Tax Practice, working from the firm's Ottawa office. His legal career stretches back nearly 50 years, including a lengthy stint as a tax lawyer in Ontario and Quebec before he joined the Federal Court in 1992. In 2014, he became Chief Justice of the Federal Court of Appeal, serving in that role until his retirement from the bench in 2023, and over that span built a reputation as one of the country's foremost tax jurists. His practice at Osler concentrates on tax disputes and litigation, and he holds a B.A., an LL.L. and an LL.B. from the University of Ottawa.
