About Terry

Terry Barnett is a partner working out of the firm's Vancouver office, concentrating on HST, GST, provincial sales tax, customs law, and other Canadian indirect taxes. Terry has worked in the GST field since the tax was introduced in 1991 and writes frequently on GST/HST and related indirect tax topics for Canadian and international publications. Terry's experience spans real estate development, financial services, cross-border transactions, health care providers, First Nations, and charities and non-profits, and also includes provincial sales tax and GST/HST appeals and litigation. Terry holds two undergraduate degrees from the University of Victoria, in history and economics, plus an LL.B. from the University of Toronto.
