About Tara

Tara Britnell co-chairs Hamilton Duncan's estate and trust litigation department, representing executors, trustees, beneficiaries, disappointed will recipients, and clients concerned about elder financial abuse. Her practice covers undue influence and capacity claims, adult guardianship, will construction disputes, and elder abuse prevention, and she frequently acts as a mediator in estate matters. She holds an LL.B. and a B.Comm from UBC, both from 1988, was called to the BC bar in 1989, and completed a certificate through the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School. She was appointed King's Counsel in 2020 and regularly writes and speaks on estate litigation and elder law.
