About Tara
Tara McElroy graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law in 2011 and joined Waldman & Associates that August for her articles. She was called to the bar in Ontario in June 2012 and has remained with the firm since. Her practice includes representing clients before the Immigration and Refugee Board and on applications to Citizenship and Immigration Canada, including complex inadmissibility and exclusion matters, and she regularly appears before the Federal Court on judicial review applications and motions. Tara has assisted on high-profile interventions, including representing interveners in Ezokola v. Canada before the Supreme Court of Canada and France v. Diab before the Ontario Court of Appeal, and was co-counsel before the Supreme Court of Canada in B010 v. MPSEP. She studied international development at McGill University before law school and speaks and writes French at an intermediate level. Tara has volunteered in Kenya and Peru and maintains an interest in global social justice issues.
