About Talar

Talar Awakian is a senior associate lawyer whose practice covers all areas of family law, including parenting arrangements, property division, and child and spousal support. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa in 2013, where she won the Family Law Institute Award for a paper on domestic violence in custody and access cases, and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2014. She has appeared at every level of court, including the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice, and the Divisional Court, and works through both litigation and negotiated settlements. Talar also holds a Law Clerk Accelerated Program diploma and a B.A. (Hons.) from York University. She is fluent in English and Armenian and belongs to the Law Society of Ontario, the York Region Law Association, and the Ontario chapter of the Armenian Bar Association.
