About Sylvia

Sylvia Guirguis practices personal injury law at Singer Kwinter, which she joined in 2021 after six years at a firm dedicated to plaintiff-side injury and insurance claims. She began her career articling at a boutique insurance defence firm in Toronto, and now draws on that defence-side background to build strategy for injured clients. Sylvia earned a B.A. (Honours) from McMaster University in 2011, followed by a J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School, York University, in 2014, and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2015. She has represented clients in proceedings before Ontario's Superior Court of Justice, Divisional Court, Small Claims Court, and Landlord and Tenant Board, as well as before the Financial Services Commission of Ontario and the Licence Appeal Tribunal. She also helped the Licence Appeal Tribunal adopt a process allowing litigation guardians to be appointed for clients who lack legal capacity. She belongs to the Law Society of Ontario and the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association.
