About Suzy
Suzy Kauffman practices in Goodmans' Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group and sits on the firm's Executive Committee. Her commercial litigation work covers contract disputes, class actions, employee and fiduciary duties, contested estates, director and officer liability, and civil fraud. She has served as lead counsel in high-stakes matters, including cases resolved through private arbitration, and handles class action work for clients nationwide. Suzy has argued cases before the Supreme Court of Canada and at every level of Ontario's civil courts, including the Court of Appeal and the Commercial Court. She has also worked on matters before the Ontario Securities Commission, as well as judicial reviews of administrative tribunals. She values close client relationships and weighs risk, cost, and strategy carefully before deciding to litigate. Suzy mentors students at the firm, teaches litigation workshops through the Advocates' Society, and serves on the boards of TanenbaumCHAT and ICRF. Before her legal career, she competed as a figure skater for Canada nationally and internationally.
