About Stuart

Stuart Kugler is a partner in the firm's litigation department who has represented victims of personal injury and medical malpractice for 25 years, regularly pleading before the courts of Quebec and the Supreme Court of Canada. He handles catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases on a contingency-fee basis and was named Montreal's Personal Injury Litigation Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers in Canada for 2022, 2023 and 2025. His medical malpractice practice covers birth injuries, surgical negligence, misdiagnosis and informed-consent cases, and he has lectured at McGill's Faculty of Law on the subject. Kugler also handles complex property insurance disputes, disability and life insurance claims, class actions concerning product liability, securities and business interruption insurance, and commercial litigation matters including oppression recourses and estate disputes. In 2022 he was elected a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
