About Steven

Steven Slavens works as counsel with a focus on commercial and technology matters. He helps clients handle contracting, outsourcing and licensing arrangements across a variety of industries. His work covers outsourcing projects, licensing deals, co-branding initiatives, and supply and distribution agreements. He also advises on sponsorship agreements, blockchain-based services, contest rules, online terms and conditions, and marketing initiatives, along with payments and cards-related issues and mortgage origination and servicing arrangements. Steven teaches in Osgoode Hall Law School's professional development programs, including courses on negotiating and drafting IT agreements and on regulatory compliance and legal risk management for financial institutions. During his articling year at Torys LLP, he was seconded to The Globe and Mail, where he handled corporate, privacy, defamation, employment, intellectual property and social media matters.
