About Sophie

Sophie Gagnier is a partner at Emond Harnden who joined the firm in 2004. She advises provincially and federally regulated employers on all areas of labour and employment law, with a bilingual practice focused on wrongful dismissal actions, human rights applications, and grievance arbitrations. Her practice also covers education law and constitutional law in the education sector, advising school boards on legislative interpretation, including compensation restraint legislation and municipal freedom of information and privacy laws. She obtained her law degree from the University of Ottawa's French Common Law Program. She is a member of the Ontario Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association, the County of Carleton Law Association, and l'Association des juristes d'expression française de l'Ontario, and is a former board member of Joan of Arc Academy.
