About Sophia

Sophia M. Rossi joined RBD in May 2017 and became senior partner in January 2024. She was admitted to the Barreau du Québec in January 2011 and practises across labour and employment law, advising, representing and defending employees and employee associations in disputes and negotiations. She regularly argues before grievance arbitrators and administrative and judicial tribunals, acts as a spokesperson in collective bargaining, and provides training on labour-relations issues. Rossi has taught collective labour relations at the Université de Montréal's continuing-education faculty. She holds a law degree from the Université de Sherbrooke, where she received the faculty's scholarship for academic excellence and involvement. She serves on a liaison committee between the Barreau du Québec and the Tribunal administratif du travail, previously sat on a liaison committee between the Montreal bar and the Conférence des arbitres du Québec, and was Quebec vice-president of the Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers. She was president of the Jeune Barreau de Montréal for 2017-2018 and served on the Barreau du Québec's board of directors from 2019 to 2021.
