About Sonia

Sonia Paradis has been a partner at Donati Maisonneuve since 2007, having previously practised at a large Montreal firm. She has been a member of the Barreau du Québec since 1990, following her law degree from Université Laval, and her practice centers on defending companies and individuals, largely insurance companies, professionals and financial institutions, in proceedings brought against them. She regularly pleads before Quebec's courts and before disciplinary committees related to insurance and finance, while also favouring negotiated settlements when a file allows it, and provides loss-prevention training in insurance and civil and professional liability. She is a frequent conference speaker, a past president of the Canadian Bar Association's Quebec division civil litigation and insurance section, a former treasurer of the Association du Jeune Barreau de Montréal, and represents the firm within Avocats gestionnaires de risques du Canada (AGR), a national association of independent law firms working on interprovincial insurance-law issues.
