About Sheldon

Sheldon Plener is a partner in the Business Law Group with extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, reorganizations, and joint ventures across mining, transportation, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, and sports. He was the primary lawyer for the Toronto Raptors' NBA expansion agreement and founding secretary of the team. He was chairman and governor of the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club and has served as director of public companies including Biovail Corporation and Novelis Inc., where he chaired risk and compliance committees. He was also secretary and lead counsel for Toronto's 2015 Pan American Games bid.
