About Sheila

Sheila R. Block, C.M. is a partner whose litigation work centers on complex trials and appeals across a wide civil practice, touching corporate and commercial disputes, securities litigation, intellectual property, defamation, and administrative law. Her court work spans every level of the Canadian judicial system, and she has also represented clients in international arbitrations and before other tribunals. She previously chaired Torys' Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice and its Executive Committee. Sheila has written and taught extensively on advocacy, including preparing a Canadian edition of a well known trial advocacy text, and has led advocacy training in several countries as well as for war crimes tribunals in Rwanda and Sierra Leone. She is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
