About Shannon

Shannon Whyley founded the firm in 2022 after more than two decades practising labour and employment law in Saskatchewan. She was called to the Ontario bar in 2005 and to the Saskatchewan bar in 2008, and earned her B.Comm. and LL.B., both with great distinction, from the University of Saskatchewan. Before establishing her own practice she worked as in-house counsel for a large public sector labour organization, as a partner at a major Western Canadian firm, and earlier as an associate and student-at-law at a Toronto labour and civil litigation boutique. She acted primarily for employers before shifting her practice in 2019 to represent unions and employees, and she has also served as an independent workplace harassment investigator. Her experience spans trials, judicial reviews, grievance arbitrations, Labour Relations Board matters, human rights complaints and OH&S hearings, along with collective bargaining and settlement negotiations. She currently serves as Regional Vice President (Saskatchewan) for the Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers and was appointed King's Counsel in 2025.
