About Sean
Sean Jones practises Indigenous, environmental and regulatory law with a focus on natural resource law, including fisheries issues, federal and provincial environmental assessments, and advocating for the rights of Indigenous communities. He acted as legal counsel in the first-ever implementation of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples in Canada, for which he was part of a team that won the Premier's Award for promoting innovation and excellence. He has represented First Nations in Federal Court and at all levels of court in British Columbia, advised clients across the oil and gas, mining and forestry sectors, and advises Indigenous communities on economic development and governance issues. Before entering law he was a communications professional and taught communications at Douglas College and BCIT. He won numerous awards during his law degree at Birkbeck College, University of London, including the Pearson Publication Prize for graduating first in his class.
