About Seamus

Seamus Cowan is a family lawyer with litigation and mediation experience who approaches conflict with sensitivity and compassion. He tries to restore a degree of reasonableness early in a file, but remains prepared to advocate resolutely through litigation when that is not possible. He holds a B.A. in Communications from Simon Fraser University, an M.A. in Communications from York University, and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa, where he studied family law. Seamus handles divorce, child and spousal support, parenting time, property division, guardianship, child protection, cohabitation and separation agreements, and protection orders. He has represented Legal Aid clients throughout British Columbia and is committed to coaching clients who face financial limitations.
