Checkpoint Law LLP is a family law firm based in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia, with an office on Nelson Street. The firm limits its practice to family law, handling divorce and separation, parenting arrangements, guardianship, child and spousal support, property division, protection orders, and cohabitation or prenuptial agreements. Four lawyers currently practice there: Vincent Canil, Seamus Cowan, Andrew Moffet, and Simran Bedi. Canil and Moffet both appear regularly in the Provincial and Supreme Courts of British Columbia.

The lawyers don't all take the same path into family law. Seamus Cowan holds a bachelor's degree in communications from Simon Fraser University, a master's in communications from York University, and a law degree from the University of Ottawa, and has represented Legal Aid clients across British Columbia. Simran Bedi earned an undergraduate degree from the University of British Columbia and a law degree from City, University of London, then worked as a legal administrative assistant before being called to the bar; Bedi is fluent in English and Punjabi. Beyond standard representation, the firm offers legal coaching, where a lawyer advises clients who choose to handle their own case, and it posts flat fees for services such as divorces, separation agreements, and prenuptial or cohabitation agreements alongside its hourly rate.
