Scott Croteau graduated from Laurentian University in Sudbury before attending law school in Ottawa, graduating with an LL.B. in May 2000. He was called to the Bar of Ontario in February 2002 and practised in Toronto, focusing on personal injury and insurance matters on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants, including jury trials before the Superior Court, the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal. Bilingual in English and French, he returned to Sudbury in 2014, joining Weaver Simmons and becoming a partner in 2017. In 2021 he was appointed a Deputy Judge of the Ontario Small Claims Court, and he has mentored with Toronto Metropolitan University since 2024 and coached mock trial teams since 2023. He serves on the board of the Sudbury District Law Association and as a director of The Advocates' Society. In 2026 he returned to Kostyniuk & Greenside as counsel, continuing to practice insurance-related litigation for plaintiffs and defendants and offering mediation services province-wide.
