Scott Smith is an attorney at Nicholson Smith & Partners, born in North Bay, Ontario, and raised in various Ontario communities before settling in London. Smith earned a Bachelor of Arts from Queen's University and graduated from the University of Western Ontario law school in 1979, and was called to the Bar in 1981 after articling. Smith has practised in London, Ontario since, forming Nicholson Smith with Ross Nicholson in 1988 as a small boutique litigation firm. Smith's practice specializes in civil litigation with an emphasis on personal injury and insurance litigation, contract, and commercial litigation, and Smith has appeared at all levels of Trial and Appeal Courts in Ontario, the Federal Court of Canada, administrative tribunals, and Coroner's Inquests. Smith has lectured on Civil Litigation, Professional Conduct and Trial Advocacy at the Bar Admission Course in London, has been a guest lecturer at the University of Western Ontario, and has taught Civil Litigation in Fanshawe College's Law Clerks Program. Smith is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Advocates Society.
