About Sarah
Sarah Jones is a partner at Thomas Gold Pettingill LLP, where she has practised insurance and civil litigation since 2010. Her work covers commercial litigation, tort defence, and subrogation, including complex insurance disputes such as failure to educate, occupier's and construction liability, product liability, and professional negligence, as well as transportation matters involving motor vehicle accidents, customs seizures, and cargo damage. Sarah conducts examinations under oath and has acted for insurers pursuing affirmative litigation over fraudulent claims, appearing before the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Superior Court of Justice, and the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. Much of her recent work defends Ontario universities against failure-to-educate, defamation, and negligence claims, along with professional liability claims involving professors, residency students, and nurses, and vicarious liability claims including sexual abuse and harassment. She earned her JD from Queen's University in 2009 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2010.
