Sara Kunto is Of Counsel at Caravel Law and is a bilingual senior legal counsel whose 17-plus years of practice have centered on non-profit and broader public sector organizations, including 14 years as in-house general counsel within Ontario and Alberta's regulated post-secondary institutions. As general counsel reporting to university presidents, she led teams responsible for corporate governance, in-house legal services, privacy as Chief Privacy Officer, policy and program development, records management, and student appeal processes, while also advising executive teams on governance, risk, and crisis management. Her legal advice has spanned administrative law, corporate law and governance, employment and labour law, human rights, privacy, and poverty law, and she has appeared before administrative boards and tribunals on labour, human rights, and appeals involving programs such as Ontario Works, the Ontario Disability Support Program, Employment Insurance, and the Canada Pension Plan. Sara was called to the Law Society of Ontario in 2006 and the Law Society of Alberta in 2021.
