Her patent work spans industries including pharmaceuticals, biologics, information technology, telecommunications, and oil and gas, while her copyright, trademark, and trade secret matters have involved software, drug, and media companies. Sana has appeared before all levels of the Ontario and federal courts, including the Supreme Court of Canada, has acted pro hac vice in U.S. patent litigation, and has extensive experience with international cross-border disputes. Before entering private practice, she clerked for Justice Rosalie Abella at the Supreme Court of Canada. She is a registered patent and trademark agent and is also fluent in French. Sana holds a J.D. from the University of Toronto, a master's in biotechnological law and ethics from the University of Sheffield, and a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from Queen's University, and she was called to the Ontario bar in 2005.
