About Samien
Samien Safaei practises real estate and municipal law, drawing on 13 years as in-house legal counsel and lands solicitor for a lower mainland municipality, where she advised the Mayor and City Council and worked with senior municipal management. Before that, she articled and worked as an associate in the Vancouver office of a national law firm, specializing in real estate law. Her practice covers complex acquisitions and dispositions of land, subdivisions, road dedications and closures, development agreements, easements, and rights-of-way, and she has managed a portfolio of over 100 commercial leases and licences. She has acted for municipalities on major conservation and waterlot tenure matters, including a transfer of land tied to the Burns Bog Ecological Conservancy Area. Samien holds dual Bachelor of Civil Law and Bachelor of Common Law degrees from McGill University and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from Simon Fraser University, and was called to the Bar in British Columbia in 2007. She is a member of the Law Society of British Columbia and the Canadian Bar Association.
