About Samantha
Samantha Shatz is a partner in the medical malpractice group at Howie, Sacks & Henry, acting for victims of medical and hospital negligence and their families. A significant part of her work involves obstetrical negligence claims on behalf of young children who were severely injured at birth, and she has appeared as trial counsel on multiple occasions. Samantha sits on the Board of the American Association for Justice and has held leadership roles with the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, including a term as Vice Chair of the group's Medical Malpractice Section. She's also active with the Brain Injury Society of Toronto, having previously served a three-year term on its Board of Directors. She was called to the Ontario bar in 2016 after earning her JD from the University of Western Ontario and a BA with Honours from Wilfrid Laurier University, and she has been named to Best Lawyers in Canada's Ones to Watch list for medical negligence.
