His practice is focused on real estate transactions, corporate and commercial law, wills and estate planning, and estate probate. Before entering full-time legal practice he had a background in farming and ranching, surveying and construction, and owning and operating several businesses. He was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1986 and has served as a bencher of the Law Society of British Columbia, an elected member of the Canadian Bar Association, and a director of a Crown corporation.
