Rodney Gill is a partner at Goodmans. Before joining the firm, he worked as a solicitor with the City of Toronto, advising City Council, the Chief Building Official, and various City divisions, agencies, boards, and commissions. He represented the City in front of administrative tribunals and Ontario's courts, including the Court of Appeal, on administrative, civil, and quasi-criminal matters, and he was seconded to Metrolinx to provide litigation support on expropriation issues. Rodney now focuses on the Building Code Act and Ontario Building Code, along with related legislation governing building permits, such as the Planning Act and the Environmental Protection Act. He works through complex permitting disputes and drafts development agreements, including conditional permit agreements and development charge agreements.
